"Making sure that Colombian Wayuu communities (located in access road and the wind farm) are aware of the importance and impact of all the construction activities that CJR Renewables will develop in La Guajira region is one of our main goals". Referred Mercedes Arpushaina, Social Responsible. CJR Renewables started this community preparation in 2020, significantly earlier than expected, once this wind farm is located in a rural area. "Our "knowledge footprint" becomes extra significant in rural areas where communities need to understand and get to know what renewable energy is and what comes with it. The feedback is fantastic! People see this as an opportunity! We feel we're making a difference in these 45 communities (35 located in access to the Park and 12 located in the Wind Farm), and we are proud of the impact this familiarity has in them." added Mercedes.
CJR Renewables is responsible for Windpeshi WF construction (200 MW) and its main access road.
The main access road has 32.950 m, and its construction already started with earth movements and box culverts underway.
According to Mercedes, CJR Renewables has hired more than 80 local employees for these access roads, which "have provided opportunities for work and progress to the community".
Windpeshi WF construction (200 MW) will feature 41 platforms and foundations.
